We would like to thank everyone that has followed our blog in the past few months. We have migrated our blog over to our home website which is Get Results for Dentists. We have really enjoyed reading all of your comments and responding to them.

Also, you can find us every Tuesday at 8 pm EST on Blog Talk Radio for our Internet Radio Show “The Whole Tooth” and our newest site that we are officially launching on Monday, September 27th Smilez MarketPlace.

Thank you for being a supporter of ours and we look forward to seeing you on our other sites.

Hogan and Richard

Take a moment today and check out our new “One-Stop-Shop” for all things Dental! We created this site for two main reasons.

1. A placeSmilez MarketPlace that companies (large or small), consultants, etc. can advertise their services and/or products at an affordable price. Also built on a platform that is very “User Friendly” and has the ability for you to monitor your ad statistics. This site provides you with fantastic SEO advantages.

2. A place where Dentists and their teams can come to find anything and everything that they would need in the dental industry. As a customer, you will be allowed to both read comments left about companies from colleagues and post ones for others to read!

Please help us grow our new Dental Community… The more companies, products, and consultants that are listed, the less you have to search!!!

Last night on our Blog Talk Radio show “The Whole Tooth” our guest was Rhonda Mullins. Rhonda joined us to speak about “Vital Pitfalls to Avoid for Transition Success in Dentistry”.

We wanted to take a few minutes and point out a few of our favorite points from our conversation with our video on YouTube. Here is a quick run-down on what we learned from Rhonda:

Sorry to use an often quoted line from the first Spiderman movie, but the truth is that all of us have great power within us. No, I am not suggesting that we have the ability to walk on walls or spin literal webs, but we do have the powers of words and attitude.

We have all probably used the phrase from childhood, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me.” That sentiment is only true if you let it be. However, many people do not have the ability to simply shrug off all negative comments to, or about them. They are therefore subject to the wounds that these words can create. Words can be used to either build people up, or to pull them down to the ground. Ironically, both methods can have the desired effect, or they can also have the direct opposite effect.

Some of the most successful people in the US have been interviewed for the book “Three Feet From Gold,” by Sharon L. Lechter and Greg S. Reid. Almost every one of the success icons in the book said that they used negative comments as their fuel to show what they were truly worth. That is a rare quality that sets winners apart from the majority of folks who let negativity seep into their minds and allow it to pull them into despair.

So it is plain that your only defense to negative comments – no matter how harsh – is your reaction to them. If this attitude is well developed, it is kind of like a superpower!

If you are the type of person that needs to make yourself feel better by pulling others down, then your successes will be hollow and fleeting. Your friendships will most likely be with others that feel the same way, or with folks who are easily controlled by you. You may have power, but it is negative, and doesn’t work on everyone. Good luck!

If you are the type of person who focuses first on the success and strength of those around you, your positive nature will be returned with strong friendships of meaning and purpose. You will most likely attract others who are positive, and enjoy your company for the right reasons. Congratulations, you just hit the superhero jackpot!

I know this may sound as if I recently read from a series of Marvel Comics, but it is actually an autobiographical commentary. In the short time that has passed since the start of our company, Get Results Marketing and Business Coaching, the feedback and energy we have enjoyed has been tremendous! Our mission from the start has been to provide tools for success for others by focusing on them first. We bring professional experts to you and we have seen an amazing amount of support. Frankly, it makes me feel pretty good about what we are doing.

There are plenty of people in this world who will tell you that you aren’t doing something right, or that you have seriously miscalculated. I choose to turn their words into my fuel for success. I hope you do too. We will be there to support your goals, and feel free to contact us if we can serve you in any way!

Make it a great week!

Remembering 9/11

Ok, I know this has nothing to do with dentistry but I feel it is important to everyone.  Can you believe it has been 9 years since the 9/11 attacks?

On Saturday I sat and watched some great college football games with my two boys.  I sat on the couch and looked at my 9 year old and started to think back to that tragic day.  He was only 6 months old at the time.  I remember like it was yesterday being in my office watching that day unravel (as I am sure you all do too), and thinking to myself, “What kind of world do we live in?”

So, here we are 9 years later. The economy is still in the crapper, President Obama just declared an end to the war (I think, there was barely any news coverage about it), and I am older!

I guess I am just confused.  Regarding the media, I saw more “remembrance” of 9/11 on Facebook and YouTube (Budweiser’s limited commercial) than on mainstream TV.  Is it my imagination or does it seem that the people around you hardly talked about it this year?

I am not big into politics, but I am proud to be an American.  I sat on the couch and found a documentary that was on about that day and watched with it with my boys.  As we watched I tried to explain to them why this happened.  I also told them about all of the courageous soldiers that lost their lives over the past 9 years fighting for our country and how this day should always remind American people of them.

I also told them that there are both good and bad people in every culture in the world, and that they should always look for the good ones. I hope that we never forget about those innocent folks who died, the soldiers who have fought for us and that there are always positive options to solve our differences. We just need to find them.

We hoped that you enjoyed our interview on “The Whole Tooth” this past Tuesday evening with Rebecca Buscemi, “Using Social Media to Compliment your Current Marketing Efforts”.  If you missed it, you are invited to listen to it at your convenience by downloading it for FREE.
